On November 15, 2024, Glenn Agre secured a significant victory on behalf of Stacy Chang in a high-profile employment dispute against Carlos Cashman, former CEO of Thrasio, and his related entities. Judge Araceli Martinez-Olguin of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California denied Cashman’s summary judgment motion virtually its eternity, and also denied an attempt to exclude plaintiff’s damages expert. This sets the stage for a March 2025 trial.

In the matter, Ms. Chang claims that she was falsely offered a partnership role in a new venture capital fund backed by Cashman, which caused her to leave Founders Fund, a preeminent VC fund. The case was profiled in Forbes shortly after it was filed.

The team that has successfully represented Ms. Chang is led by partner Reid Skibell, and includes partners Lyn Agre and Edward Shapiro, Special Counsel Ashley Zitrin, and associate Samantha Bennett.
