Glenn Agre Bergman & Fuentes LLP announced today that former Superior Court judge Burke Strunsky has joined the firm as Special Counsel in the complex commercial litigation and white-collar litigation & investigations practices. Strunsky will be based in the firm’s San Francisco office.

Few practicing attorneys rival Strunsky’s wealth of courtroom experience. As an attorney, he has taken over 100 trials to verdict. As a judge, he oversaw thousands of cases, both criminal and civil. This multifaceted understanding of litigation enables Strunsky to manage cases with particular sensitivity to the court’s perspective. Strunsky applies his exceptional insights to craft successful strategies and achieve victories for his clients.

Strunsky first honed his courtroom skills as a prosecutor, both at the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office and the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office. In Riverside—the tenth largest prosecutor’s office in the nation—Strunsky’s portfolio extended from the most violent felonies to complex white-collar crimes. He successfully tried two dozen murder cases to verdict as first chair and was twice named “Prosecutor of the Year.” In this period, Strunsky also established the Humanity of Justice Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to combatting child abuse. Strunsky won election to the Superior Court in Riverside in 2016, serving more than five years on the bench before entering private practice.

“Burke is an accomplished trial lawyer, and his tenure on the Superior Court hearing significant criminal and civil cases will be immensely valuable to our clients,” said Glenn Agre co-founding partner Lyn Agre. “Burke will elevate our practice to the next level as we continue to build elite litigation service offerings in California and beyond.”

Lawyers in Glenn Agre’s national complex commercial litigation practice handle disputes in both state and federal courts, and in arbitrations throughout the country. The firm frequently represents clients in high-value breach of contract actions and business disputes, as well as cases involving alleged breaches of fiduciary duty and fraudulent transfers. The firm’s white-collar litigation & investigations practice has vast experience helping individuals and corporations in connection with criminal investigations and prosecutions as well as regulatory proceedings. The firm’s practice is of national scope and frequently involves cross-border activity.

“I am delighted to join Glenn Agre and the innovative, energetic team of lawyers the firm has assembled,” said Strunsky. “I can’t wait to be of service to the firm’s litigation and white-collar clients. Glenn Agre’s practice is making great strides nationwide, and I look forward to reinforcing that positive momentum.”

Strunsky received his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law, and his B.A. from George Washington University. Strunsky is admitted to practice in California.
